Dblue glitch or substitute2/20/2023 I think this is one of Reason's main weaknesses in my eyes. Reason's Reverb units are far from their VST equivalents. Once again, a lot of this can be overcome with some custom made devices in Reason, but having a great EQ at your fingertips that can do everything (EQuality) is hard to find in Reason. Especially the little things like lack of powerful high and low cut filters on the EQ and flexible shelving filters. I find the EQs and compressors in Reason to be inferior to VST based equivalents. Effects like chorus, vocoding, phasers, delay and filtering are pretty good in Reason, especially when you start building your own units. They are indeed capable of a lot, but the world of VSTis brings such a huge range of sounds to the table that simply are not possible with the in-built Reason synths. Overall the sound sources in Reason are great, but they can't produce every sound on earth. For example, Massive's phase modulator, FM8's FM, Omnisphere's weird and wonderful sound library, Zebra2's depth (e.g. Synths like Massive, FM8, Omnisphere and Zebra2 can produce many sounds that are simply impossible in Reason. You usually have to produce the sound for the left channel and then duplicate the synth for the right channel and put it in a combinator. Creating stereo synth patches with in-built synths is quite a pain due to lack of proper stereo unison on any synth. The synths are great too, Thor is a truly amazing synth, in many areas on par with the best VSTis out there, but in many ways not. You can really get a huge sonic range with what's built in. Let me start my saying that I do think Reasons built in instruments and effects are excellent, especially if you dig a little deeper, building your own delay / chorus units with some effort. Then moved exclusively to Cubase which I am now using at v6 with various VST effects and instruments. At around v3, I started to ReWire it with Cubase S元 and then later a little with Cubase 4. Hey guys, I've used Reason from v1 to v4.
